Maribel Rodriguez is an environmental lawyer specializing in wildlife trade and environmental crime law. She has several years of experience in different international organizations such as the Council of Europe, where she worked at the Secretariat of the Bern Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats monitoring cases of non-compliance and the European Commission where she worked as a legal officer in the Research Directorate General. She has also experience in legal research in the Université Robert Schuman in Strasbourg (France) and the Academy of European Law in Trier (Germany). In 2014-2015 she completed the Master Degree in Management and Conservation of Species in Trade at the International University of Andalucía (UNIA), the only masters’ in the world dedicated to the CITES Convention.
At Legal Atlas, Maribel leads the research teams dedicated to compiling and analyzing wildlife trade and environmental crime related legislation.
